Sentinel 3D Scanning

Precise and Comprehensive Data Acquisition: 3D Scanning Services

3D scanning is the process of measuring a high quantity of three-dimensional points. Although 3D scanners are typically used for this task, a variety of measurement tools can perform this task. Some less commonly known tools include noncontact surface profilometers, CT scanners, and laser scanners mounted to coordinate measuring machines. But no matter which tool is used, the goal is the same: to measure a lot of points very quickly.

Points collected with 3D scanners are typically used for product development related tasks like reverse engineering or dimensional inspection. The high density of points collected with 3D scanners makes the recreation of CAD models much faster, and the accuracy of the points permits comprehensive inspections.

Sentinel 3D Scanning is a 3D scanning company bringing an ample mount of experience to table – particularly in high-accuracy 3D scanning for dimensional inspection and reverse engineering applications. Whether you’re looking for 3D scanning services in Seattle or elsewhere in the pacific Northwest, Sentinel can help you collect the data you need to speed up your development cycle.

Highly Accurate Scanning Equipment Up to the Task

There are a variety of scanning technologies on the market today. And despite what some may say, each technology will offer its own pros and cons; there isn’t one “best” technology that will work best for all applications. That said, some 3D scanners will produce higher-quality results for the task they are meant to do, so it is important to choose a 3D scanning service provider that has the right tools for the job in addition to subject matter expertise. That is why Sentinel 3D Scanning pairs metrology-grade 3D scanning equipment with industry experience to scan your parts and assemblies.

Steinbichler Comet L3D 5m

Prior to being acquired by Zeiss, Steinbichler was one of the leading manufacturers of 3D scanning equipment for quality control applications. Our Comet L3D is an extremely precise structured light (fringe projection) 3D scanner capable of accuracies as high as 5 µm. It features a high-resolution 5 megapixel camera and an assortment of lenses, enabling high-accuracy 3D scans of objects 5 mm – 1000 mm in size.
